Open House to recognize Kris Hampton’s retirement from the Town Board

There will be an open house at the Town Hall on Saturday April 26th from 1-3 p.m. to recognize Kris Hampton’s retirement from the Town Board. All are welcome!

Kris has provided 37 years of continuous service to the Town. He began as a Plan Commissioner in 1988. In 1992, he was first elected as a Town Board Supervisor. Then, in 2003, he was elected as Town Board Chairperson, a role that has been reconfirmed by voters every two years since then, until he filed non-candidacy this past December. Over the years, he has continued to serve on the Plan Commission, serving as its chairperson since 2011. In addition, Kris has served on and played crucial roles on most all of the various Town and Joint Town/Village committees and commissions, most notably the Fire Commission, Deer-Grove EMS Commission, and former Joint Law Enforcement committee. He has been diligent in landfill monitoring, including both the former Town site on Natvig Road and advocating with Dane County on behalf of the Town and residents near the County landfill site. Kris served on the Capitol Area Regional Planning Commission (CARPC), and participated in the Dane County and Wisconsin Towns Associations. He has always taken time to listen to residents who have brought him their suggestions, concerns or complaints (with a sprinkling of compliments in between). His leadership, unwavering support of emergency services, and fiscal responsibility are exemplary!

Please join us on April 26th as we recognize and celebrate Kris Hampton’s dedication and years of service to the Town of Cottage Grove.
