All dogs kept in the Town of Cottage Grove are required to be licensed by the time they are 5 months of age. Dog licenses run on a calendar year basis. Licenses issued after April 1st of each year will be subject to a $5.00 late charge, so be sure to renew your licenses promptly.
2026 Fees are as follows:
- Spayed or neutered adult dogs: $23.25
- Un-spayed or un-neutered adult dogs: $34.25
- Puppies (under 5 months of age on July 1, 2025) are $21.75 if neutered or spayed, otherwise $30.25.
- Multi-Dog Licenses (up to 12 dogs): $66.75. Additional dogs are $34.25 each.

Renewing expiring dog licenses:
Renewal forms are emailed in December to all dog owners with email addresses on file. (All others were sent by mail).
