CGAHS is a group of dedicated volunteers who collect, preserve and share information about the history of the town and village of Cottage Grove through real objects, photographs, and paper and digital records of land abstracts, records, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, obituaries, etc. What do you have to share with us?
The society's history room contains archives and a study area located in the lower level of Flynn Hall, at 116 W. Reynolds Street, Cottage Grove. The history room is open by appointment.
CGAHS has over 10,000 photographs of Cottage Grove people, places and events in its photograph collection. We are combining some of them with text and sharing them in print. Copies of the reports have been placed in Monona Grove School IMCs; Monona, Pinney (Madison), and Sun Prairie Libraries; the Wisconsin Historical Society, and Dane County Historical Society Archives. Copies may be purchased at the Cottage Grove Town Hall (mornings M-F) or by contacting Jerry Rodefeld at (608) 839-4043 or jerrylynnrodefeld@gmail.com . Click Here for a list of available reports.
Board meetings are held beginning at 1:30 P.M. on the Second Thursday of each month at Flynn Hall. Quarterly membership meetings are held in March, June, September and December, date and time and location to be determined. In March and September we will present our speaker series. Speakers will talk on assorted subjects.
One-year membership: $12 single/$20 family.
