Fall Recycling Reminder
As a Fall Recycling Reminder, please remember to keep leaves and other yard waste out of recycling bins.
Leaves, grass clippings, and other yard waste can contaminate paper and plastic recyclables, and can clog sorting equipment, especially due to the high moisture content in leaves. When mixed with recyclables, leaves and other yard waste disrupt the recycling process, and can potentially cause entire loads to be rejected. Additionally, recycling facilities are not equipped to manage the methane emissions produced as leaves and other yard waste decompose.

• Mulch leaves directly into lawn areas
• Use leaves as garden insulation
