Please take notice that the Town of Cottage Grove, Dane County WI enacted Ordinance No. 2025-03-30, which amended the following sections of the Town Code of Ordinances:

Section 09.10 PARADES AND RACES was amended to change the threshold for requiring a Parade or Race permit from a parade of 10 to 25 persons or vehicles. (Any race on Town Highways still requires a permit).  Rather than mailing notice to all residences along the route, notice of the event will now be made through the Town website and social media site(s).  A $100 application fee still applies, but no deposit fee is required with the application.  The Town Board may still require a deposit upon approval.  Violations of this ordinance is punishable as a class D forfeiture under s. TCG 25.04 (First Violation - $50-$500, Subsequent violations within 12 months - $500-$1500).

Section 11.08 FALSE ALARMS PROHIBITED was amended to issue a verbal warning upon the first false signal for an intrusion, fire, holdup or other alarm system within a rolling 12-month period.  A written warning will be issued with the second false signal, followed by a citation for a third false signal during a rolling 12-month period.  Violations of this ordinance is punishable as a class C forfeiture under s. TCG 25.04 (First Violation - $25-$75, Subsequent violations within 12 months - $75-$500).

These ordinance amendments will be effecctive upon publication, which is scheduled for April 8, 2026.
